Kika and the Bear came about from a stuffed bear named Rogelio. It was given to me about 30 years ago by my father, whose name was also Rogelio.

My bear Rogelio was more than a bear, he was a security blanket, a partner in adventure and travel. Rogelio the bear went with me on family trips and sleepovers, parties and even church. Rogelio the bear was a great wrestler and a comfortable pillow. He was a friend I could rely on when things were not going well.

When my father passed away, I wanted to keep his memory alive and share the joy of this wonderful bear named after him.

Today, every bear crafted has been given a piece of the stuffing found in the original Rogelio bear in hopes of spreading its magic and instilling a sense of adventure and creativity in their owners.

And yes, the bears are designed with their arms open and ready for a hug or snuggle.
